LDR Light Sensor Module (Photosensor)
Enable your projects to detect ambient light with this simple and effective LDR Light Sensor Module. This board is built around a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR), also known as a photoresistor, which changes its resistance based on the intensity of the light it is exposed to. It’s the perfect sensor for building automatic lighting systems, light-activated alarms, and other light-sensitive projects.
This module makes using an LDR incredibly easy by providing all the necessary electronics on a single board, including a high-precision comparator. It features a dual-output system for maximum flexibility: an **Analog Output (A0)** provides a continuous voltage reading that corresponds to the light intensity, and a **Digital Output (D0)** goes HIGH or LOW when the light level crosses a specific threshold.
This trigger threshold can be easily calibrated using the onboard blue potentiometer, allowing you to fine-tune the sensor’s sensitivity for your specific application, such as detecting the difference between daylight and darkness.
Key Features:
- Sensor: Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) / Photoresistor
- Function: Detects ambient light intensity
- Dual Output: Provides both Analog (voltage) and Digital (HIGH/LOW) signals
- Adjustable Sensitivity: Onboard potentiometer to set the digital trigger point
- Operating Voltage: 3.3V to 5V DC
- Interface: 4-pin header (VCC, GND, D0, A0) for easy connection
Applications:
The LDR Light Sensor module is ideal for a wide range of beginner-friendly projects, including automatic street lights, room light controllers, light-activated security alarms, line-following robots (as part of a pair), and educational experiments demonstrating the properties of light.
