The analog output gives a variable reading of the moisture level, while the digital output provides a simple HIGH/LOW signal when the moisture crosses a specific threshold, which you can easily adjust using the onboard potentiometer.

Please Note: This is a resistive sensor, and the probes can corrode over time with continuous exposure to moist soil. For long-term projects, it is recommended to take periodic readings rather than leaving the sensor powered on continuously in the soil.
